My Grandad’s photos of our Silver Jubilee Street Party have been presented to the Queen!!

Last year, in my capacity as a Community Reporter, I submitted some photos that my Grandad, Henry Spellman, took of our Silver Jubilee Street Party in 1977 for People’s Voice Media to submit to The Jubilee Time Capsule. Just found out today that my story was one of 60 selected by a panel of judges to be in the Diamond (re)Collection and presented to the Queen by the Royal Commonwealth Society  in the form a Digital Time Capsule on a Samsung Galaxy Note which is to be kept at Windsor Castle as part of the Royal Collection. I’m very happy that the judges were as charmed by his photos as I was and think that he would have been very pleased that the Queen got to see his photographs.
