On Monday 14th January 2013 in association with The Lass O’Gowrie we present a special screening in our winter season of cult classics that were popular favourites at the Aaben Cinema. First in the season is Bruce Robinson’s “Withnail & I” starring Richard E. Grant and Paul McGann.
A pre-sorted tray of drinks will be orderable from the bar in advance of the screening so you can play the Drinking Game and drink along with the film.
FREE ADMISSION and Popcorn: (but a small donation would be nice) 🙂
Doors open at 7.30pm – screening time 8pm
For the uninitiated (if there is anyone out there who’s never seen this), synopsis.
Two down-on-their-luck actors (Withnail and Marwood) find solace in drink and other substances. Seeking respite from their uneventful lives they escape up north to Penrith to Withnail’s uncle’s stone cottage. Faced with no modern conveniences, a bunch of oddball locals, and a surprise visit from an amorous “Uncle Monty”, their wits are tested, along with their friendship. (Written by Kathleen Mortensen)
